MOMENTS OF CLARITY
My co-writer, Pankaj Dave and I were talking about our Book of Life, since we both have a number of chapters under our belts. In trying to convey our experiences, we settled on Moments and the memories and insights they hold. The cover art for Moments of Clarity is a photo I took near my home at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala -- a place where my Book of Life continues to unfold.
I'm All Right, Jack tells the story of a confident, upwardly mobile man who believed he was better than his co-workers. But then one day, he too, received the email telling him he was out. And then he learned what others had learned before... check it out!
Inspired by my beloved pueblo here in Guatemala, Going My Way is about self-love and living the day. It was a fun co-write with the brilliant Matt Vincent-Brown. And also a break from my social justice songs of this past year.. One critic called our song, "A cup of sunshine for the day." I hope it will brighter your day too!
